YOUTH PROTECTION
.jpg)
As Adult Volunteers of the BSA, we hold our commitment to keeping our youth safe in the highest regard.

In addition to the BSA's Youth Protection Training (YPT) requirements, the State University of New York (SUNY) System and the Fredonia Campus both require additional Youth Protection Training for all Volunteers and Staff that will be interacting with under 18 youth while on Campus.

All University of Scouting Staff and Instructors that will be working directly with Under-18 youth are required to complete the follow requirements (which should take a little over an hour) and complete the online form so that we can meet SUNY Requirements.

SUNY FREDONIA REQUIREMENTS
-
All Adults working with children under 18 on campus MUST:
-
Take SUNY Child Protection Training (STEP 1). This training takes about one hour to complete.
-
Review the Fredonia Campus Child Protection presentation (STEP 2). This takes about ten minutes to complete.
-
Be cleared by the NY State Criminal Justice System. This will be completed by the Allegheny Highlands Council two weeks prior to the event. DOB is needed for this, which is on the form.
-
Wear a Photo Identifying Name Badge at the event - This will be provided upon arrival. Please upload a photo to the form when you complete the training.
-

This is not unlike our Council requiring someone from another organization to take our YPT training before working with Scouts.

When you have completed the training, please fill out the form in step three verifying that the training was complete. It will also request your Birth Date for the NY CJS background check and a photo, so that we can create your name badge for the event.

Thank you for Doing your Best to ensure a safe environment for our Scouts, and please feel free to reach out to me with any questions
Yours in Scouting,
